About Me
Principal Assessor and Founder of MDP Dyslexia Assessments

Miles Dunfield-Prayero MA PGCE, PG Cert SEND, SPLD APC - PATOSS
I am a fully qualified Specialist Assessor and Teacher with over twenty years of experience in the classroom. I started my teaching career in Mathematics, rising early on to become Head of Mathematics before taking on the whole school role of Head of Academic Interventions and Special Educational Needs. A key part of the latter was implementing and teaching one-to-one and small-group interventions in literacy and maths. This afforded me first-hand experience of the challenges that learners with dyslexia experience as they navigate school. For the past 9 years, I have been assessing students with potential learning difficulties, literacy/numeracy needs, and those requiring access arrangements. I fully appreciate the anxieties young people experience when being assessed and I make every effort to put them at ease. My full diagnostic assessments make clear conclusions that identify strengths and weaknesses. I additionally make robust recommendations applicable in the school context, at home, and for specialised intervention. I firmly believe that an appropriately timed assessment and intervention can enable learners to access their preferred learning style and move forward with increased confidence and self-esteem.
